2017 Temple University Analytics Challenge
Analyzed data from NBC Universal to determine which movies would be a box-office hit. This project was interesting to MIS majors because it is a real-life example on how big data allows us to make strategic decisions. I learned to use Tableau to visualize the NBC Universal data. After completing the research, I learned that movies that are PG-13 tend to make the most money. Also, time of year is very important to the release of a movie. Movies that come out during the summer or when schools are out of session, are often box office hits.
