How to Find and Use Your Strengths

  1. Title of the activity – How to Find and Use Your Strengths (professional skills)
  2. Term of the activity – Spring 2023
  3. Name of sponsoring organization – Pete Mockaitis
  4. Details of the activity (e.g., where, when) – 3/7/2023, Online
  5. What you learned – Strength is something you’re good at, that you’re self-motivated to do, and gives you energy.  We should focus on our strengths rather than our weaknesses, although we’re typically blind to our strengths.  We can connect to our strengths by focusing on the positives, using nature to destress, grow from trauma, practicing self-compassion/mindfulness, and reducing anxiety with touch/laughter.
  6. How the activity relates to coursework or your career goals – I did another LinkedIn Learning about negotiating which talked about knowing my value before entering a negotiation.  If I’m good at finding my strengths, this will help me increase my value that I can bring into a negotiation.
