Details: This webinar was hosted be ELN, or Executive Leaders Network, and it talked about topics surrounding data resilience, what happens in the event of outages, and how we can prevent outages from happening. The webinar was hosted on February 8th, at 6 AM.
Learned: One of the most interesting things that I learned in the webinar was more details on various kinds of attacks that face a system. For example, there was a slide that talked speciifcally about ransomware and the dangers that it poses to a system. They also talked about the damage caused by outages and how costly they can be for an organization, both financially and in their operations. This was a topic discussed in previous classes, such as my cybersecurity and cloud courses, but it was interesting to hear more specific information from the presentation.
Relation to Goals: Learning about the severity of information security is always interesting to me and I think it helps me learen more about what kinds of things I’d like to focus on in my career later.
