Philly House Volunteer
Every couple of weeks I volunteer at a local soup kitchen, titled Philly House. They provide three meals a day to hundreds of homeless patrons in the Philadelphia area. It is sponsored by American Medical Student Association. I help prepare the meals and then deliver them to the roughly hundred patrons who are there for the meal service. I learned a lot about how fortunate I am to have a roof over my head and food on the table everyday. I also learned that there are a lot of good people who are willing to donate their money and time to people who are less fortunate then them. It is a great experience that I will continue to do.
