IBIT Mentoring program

My goals for this mentorship have been to find a more solid understanding of who I am in the MIS field. Coming into this mentorship, I had three questions that would help, especially in my self-reflection. First, I wanted to know what my future may hold as someone with both accounting and MIS backgrounds. I know that I have more to offer with a wide range of knowledge. Therefore, I wanted to see how I could apply both in the IT field. Second, I wanted to know the different pathways I could follow in the IT field. So far, all of my MIS courses have taught me that there are so many ways to provide business solutions using technology. For example, there is value in creating websites, using AWS for cloud infrastructure, or creating code. Keeping this in mind, I aimed to learn from my mentor’s perspective. Last, I wanted to know what it takes to be successful in this field.
