Analyzed data and learned how to present insights from business data. Analyzed, modeled, and designed database centric solutions for organizations. Created data models and data warehouses based on business rules. Learned how to operate and manage a database system and structured query language (SQL). Sourced traditional and new data types and applied data mining and visualization to generate business intelligence.
MIS3501 Data Centric Application Development
Developed web-based data-centric applications using high level programming language. Used debugging techniques to identify errors and make improvements. Interpreted system requirement specifications and explained technical components including the use of systems development lifecycles in creating software applications. Created simple data driven applications that connect with a database. This course taught me to combine knowledge of PHP, CSS, HTML and SQL and create interactive web site from scratch.
MIS3580 User eXperience (UX) Design
Introduction to designing user-centered experiences for the web, mobile and beyond. Learned to navigate the process of collecting research, testing, analyzing, problem-solving, and transforming data into a successful, functional design. It prepared me for the field with an understanding of best practices and how to design with empathy.
