I relocated to Dallas, TX, to join Kyndryl, a leading global IT services company specializing in infrastructure management, application services, and consulting. At Kyndryl, I work under the CTO Data Engineering team, where I focus on leveraging data-driven technologies and solutions to drive efficiency and innovation. In my role, I utilize a range of technical skills and tools, including Python, Ansible, GitHub, Linux virtual desktops, and Power BI. I used Python for data parsing, automated workflows using Ansible, and tested and deployed solutions on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Jump Host. Additionally, I created data visualizations in Power BI to enhance operational efficiency and support data-driven decision-making.
I contributed to two significant projects:
- Cisco Switch Solution Project: Aimed at optimizing equipment purchases and reducing costs by identifying and eliminating unused ports, enabling more strategic equipment allocation.
- Brocade Switch Solution Project: Focused on streamlining updates and reducing maintenance overhead, significantly enhancing the overall efficiency of the network infrastructure.
During my internship, I acquired valuable technical skills including Ansible automation, GitHub command usage, Linux command operations, and Power BI for data visualization. I gained hands-on experience applying Python to solve real-world problems and developed a deeper understanding of Cisco and Brocade switch infrastructures through these projects. Additionally, I earned five certifications from leading hyperscalers:
- AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification (CLF-C02)
- Microsoft Azure Fundamentals Certification (AZ-900)
- Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals Certification (DP-900)
- Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals Certification (AI-900)
- Google Cloud Digital Leader Certification
This learning experience was highly relevant to my major in Management Information Systems (MIS), as it provided practical applications of concepts studied in courses related to cloud computing, data management, and Python programming.
