IBIT mentoring program
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience participating in the IBIT mentoring program. My mentor was extremely knowledgeable in the technology field, as well as professionally. This program took place at a very valuable time for me. I was able to connect with my mentor during my internship search. This was very helpful because my mentor was able to give me helpful interview and resume hints. She helped guide me on what type of company I wanted to work for, and the importance of company values.
I really value this experience and am very thankful for my mentor. No one in my family is in IT or technology, so I don’t have anyone to turn to with specific questions about my field. My mentor was super helpful, she walked me through what her career looked like. Which gave me an idea of what to expect. She also is very motivational and gives me hope for my future. This opportunity excited me to start working in IT and for all the opportunities I will have ahead after graduating with a Temple MIS degree.
In reflection, I think the IBIT mentoring program is a very value program that I am grateful to have been apart of. I will continue to connect with my mentor throughout my career and future. She has made me feel very welcome to ask her any questions I have. Overall, I really enjoyed this experience and getting to genuinely know my mentor.
