Work Experience:

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Information Services Co-Op (May 2018 – August 2018)

This past summer, I had the opportunity to be a Co-Op at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in their Information Services department. During the course of the program, I was exposed to many different technologies that are utilized in a healthcare setting, such as Epic and Oracle. I also aided in user acceptance testing by creating virtual machines and imaging test computers. In addition to my daily tasks, I was exposed to the countless ways IT impacts an organization through presentations and workshops about the different areas in Information Services at CHOP.

Temple University Physicians, Office Assistant (August 2015 – Present)

I work for Temple University Physicians in their operations and patient relations department part time during the school year, as well as full time over breaks and the summer. In the office, I make and take phone calls from patients regarding appointment information and troubleshoot any issues they may have. In addition to this, I also input information and upload documents to the hospital system’s internal patient database, Epic, and am in constant contact with pharmacies concerning prior authorizations for prescriptions.

American Heart Association, Social Media Intern (August 2016 – April 2017)

In their Philadelphia office, I worked under the social media director for the American Heart Association. My tasks included creating content for social media campaigns, mainly Instagram, scheduling posts for social media accounts across various platforms, and monitoring and tracking follower counts for numerous accounts.

Extra-Curricular Experience:

Association for Information Systems, Director of Public Relations (May 2018 – Present)

The Association for Information Systems is Temple University’s student professional organization geared to MIS students. In AIS, we work directly with the department and the Institute for Business and Information Technology to equip MIS students with valuable skills and connections to prepare them for internships and entry-level positions. As Director of Public Relations, I am responsible for managing the AIS organization’s brand and social media platforms and overseeing the Public Relations Committee, consisting of the Social Media, Photography, and Design Chairs.

Phi Sigma Pi, Member (Inducted November 2017)

I am a brother in Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity, Alpha Lambda Chapter. As a member of this organization, I must uphold our tripod consisting of scholarship, leadership, and fellowship. Members are expected to have a GPA above 3.0, both cumulatively and each semester, participate in philanthropic and various service events, and present ourselves with dignity in all aspects of our life. For the Spring 2018 semester, I am also a member of the Fundraising Committee within the fraternity.
