Thinkful Webinar || Data Science vs. Data Analytics
On Monday, February 20th, I attended the live webinar “Data Science vs Data Analytics” hosted by Thinkful. The webinar provided an overview of the industry, and the “Data Ecosystem.” This entailed various roles/careers and how they engage with data, such as data scientists, data analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders. The webinar gave multiple ways to approach finding a right fit in the industry, for example personality traits that would match a data analyst vs. a data scientist and which skills would be important for one to know. I was appreciative of the advice on focusing on one programming language instead of all in a job description, should one of interest seem overwhelming, it would be more beneficial to have expertise on one than attempt to learn all. I also saw a demonstration on how to research job demand and salaries, as well as navigating job search websites.
