Cashier
Hunan Star is a small, locally owned restaurant located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The business operates in the food service industry and serves a steady volume of customers daily. As a part-time employee, I worked directly within the front-of-house operations, supporting customer service and daily business functions.
In my role as a cashier, I was responsible for handling customer transactions, managing phone orders, and assisting with customer inquiries. I also ensured accurate order processing and provided efficient service in a fast-paced environment.
I was responsible for calculating and reconciling daily sales totals, ensuring accuracy in financial records at the end of each shift. Additionally, I helped improve efficiency by managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously, including in-person transactions and phone orders, which contributed to smoother daily operations and improved customer satisfaction.
Through this role, I developed strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills, which are directly applicable to my studies in cybersecurity and information systems. Additionally, managing customer interactions improved by ability to communicate clearly and handle high-pressure situations, skills that are essential when working in security operations and incident response.
