Cyber Crisis Management with NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) 2.0

Through the LinkedIn Learning “Cyber Crisis Management with NIST Cybersecurity Framework”, I learned the importance of preparing for and effectively managing the aftermath of cyber incidents, whether that’s through identifying critical systems, developing strategies for restoring data, and ensuring the right resources. Ensuring that the right resources are readily available, such as backups, software updates, and team contacts, is critical for recovery planning. Just as important as having a plan is practicing it through drills so that every team member knows their role and can respond quickly during a crisis. In my coursework, I can apply these concepts when analyzing different case studies, such as Maersk’s recovery from the NotPetya attack, and practice how to design recovery strategies for different scenarios. This will strengthen my ability to think critically about system vulnerabilities and resilience. Looking ahead to my career, these lessons will be valuable in helping organizations prepare for unexpected disruptions by building and maintaining strong recovery plans, as well as coordinating with teams effectively. This knowledge reinforces my goal of becoming a cybersecurity professional who can ensure both preparedness and resilience in the face of evolving threats.
