Business Analytics Intern
During the summer, I interned at Cencora, a global pharmaceutical solutions organization that supports healthcare providers and manufacturers worldwide. Cencora is a large, multinational company, and I worked within the Business Analytics Technical Administration team, which is responsible for maintaining and supporting enterprise-level data and analytics platform used across the organization. In my role as a Business Analytics Intern, my primary function was to gain hands-on exposure to how analytics tolls are supported from a technical and operational perspective. I worked with platforms including QlikSense, QlikView, Power BI, SAP Business Objects, Tableau, and Alteryx, learning both their front-end functionality and backend processes required to keep them operational.
My team was responsible for managing system updates, providing technical support, troubleshooting issues, and assisting with the implementation of new analytics tools. Throughout the internship, I met with team members and stakeholders across departments to understand how these platforms support business decision-making and how my team enables their reliable use. In addition, I connected with professionals in cybersecurity and IT auditing to learn how security controls, access management, and audits are conducted within Cencora’s analytics environment. Through these experiences, I developed a stronger understanding of enterprise systems, backend administration, and the importance of security in data platforms. This internship directly relates to my academic background as I am currently enrolled in Temple University’s 4+1 program with a concentration in cybersecurity, and it reinforced concepts from my coursework such as system administration, risk management, and IT auditing. Overall, this experience helped solidify my interest in pursuing a career in cybersecurity by showing how security principles are applied in a real-world corporate environment
