Actuarial Intern
As an actuarial intern at Chubb, I was assigned to a small group that worked on pricing for construction pricing. My general duties were to assist the rest of the team in their operations, often by cleaning up data or copying it from one format to another.
I spent the entire summer working on one project: a pricing tool. The goal was to get all of our prior contracts from one location into a file, sum them up based on their individual characteristics, and use this previous data to be able to project possible losses on future contracts.
I learned a lot about how to better utilize Excel and VBA, as well as the importance of cleaning data before it is used.
