Intern

Separation of Employment – Universal Display Corporation

During my internship at Universal Display Corporation, a OLED device company located in Ewing, New Jersey, I worked in the Quality Engineering/Lot Qualification division, where the company held around 500 employees in the headquarters.

The company specializes in high-value product development and testing, with cross-functional teams focused on ensuring product safety, compliance, and performance. I was essentially responsible for automating the lot qualification process for the dopant products, along with researching, analyzing, and engineering a data model for my colleagues.

In my role as an Intern, I collaborated with a team of five engineers and analysts to support data management and product qualification processes. I was responsible for overseeing products ranging from $1M–$3M in value, ensuring that all qualification data met strict quality and regulatory standards. I developed and implemented an information-logging model for 22 impurity and 50 coversheet profiles, improving lot qualification pack efficiency and reducing manual review time by 20–30 minutes per lot. I also conducted detailed analyses of Certificates of Analysis (COA) and created a model for my fellow engineers to compare reported versus company specifications, enabling faster alignment with client requirements. Additionally, I hosted and facilitated device data meetings to assess product risks, track performance metrics, and provide lifetime quality projections.

Through this internship, I gained hands-on experience with data validation, statistical analysis, and quality assurance workflows, directly applying concepts from my MIS courses such as Data and Analytics and some concepts of Cloud Architecture. This experience enhanced my ability to interpret large datasets, streamline technical documentation, and communicate findings effectively across engineering teams.
