KPMG IT Advisory Internship
While at KPMG I worked in Information Protection and IT Risk Consulting. This was a part of the Advisory branch of the company which sometimes works with the Audit team to test any automation that occurs in the accounting process. My role with KPMG is in IT Risk Consulting and Information Protection where I work with government clients using my top secret clearance to work through classified data and information. I save the company money because I already have top secret clearance so they do not have to waste time getting me one. I also spend time organizing events for military veterans organizations during my philanthropy time that KPMG gives us.
I earned valuable experience working on SOC 1 and SOC 2 with the IT Audit team and now feel comfortable working with on both. I was able to conduct client interviews to help gather the information needed to test the controls for design and efficiency issues. I earned the ability to work from home during the final weeks of the internship which made me work more efficiently since I was on my own.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in Requirements Gathering and Analysis, Application Design and Development, and Systems Integration deployment opportunities
- Work with teams of professionals with similar skills and experience to delivery projects with tight deadlines and exacting specifications
- Project a professional image of KPMG and provide high quality service to our clients
- Execute engagements and special projects day-to-day with a high level of professionalism
- Perform analytical reviews and conduct technical and domain specific functional research
- Complete quantitative and qualitative analysis
