Interests
I was fortunate enough to have studied in Rome, Italy through Temple University during the summer of 2013. I had an amazing experience abroad for six weeks while I immersed myself in the culture. This campus specializes in Businesses classes in addition to Italian classes, so I had the best of both worlds. I was able to take Introduction to Risk Management and The History of Art in Rome. My Art History course was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The class consisted of one day of lecture and another day learning on-site at museums and churches while our teacher acted as our tour guide. We also took two day excursions, such as visiting Todi, a medieval hill town. For the last two weeks of my trip, I visited family in Italy that I never met before. This was the best part of my experience in Italy and is the driving factor for my passion to return someday. This experience also allowed me to practice my Italian daily; however, I grew to develop a great need to pursue the language further.
Italian Language
I had not even left Italy before I registered to take Italian I in the upcoming semester. I took Italian I and II and plan to take Italian III to continue to develop my skills. I use the communication skills that I learn in class to keep in touch with my cousins in Italy. I will continue to pursue Italian classes through Intermediate Italian or hopefully Italian for Business. I aspire to do business in Italy one day and to be able to return for a third time.
