Summer Analyst
I worked as a Summer Analyst for about ten weeks at JPMorgan Chase & Co., where I was able to work both remotely and in-person, spending two days a week on-site. I went to a lot of senior speaking engagements, and one particularly enlightening one with Jamie Dimon helped me understand technology in the finance industry better. My main duties were helping my team with routine Business As Usual (BAU) chores including data analysis and Alteryx project assistance.I was in charge of making sure that variance analyses, reconciliations, and derivatives netting finance reports were accurate and reliable. I made the month-end close procedure more effective by employing Alteryx to automate reconciliation and general ledger changes. I also looked at the derivative swings on a daily and monthly basis in great detail. Training machine learning models to identify and interpret anomalies in derivative netting sets, so guaranteeing a reliable and accurate analysis, was one of my major accomplishments. My technical abilities were improved throughout this internship, and it also gave me insightful knowledge about the real-world uses of technology in the finance industry.
