In summer 2016, I interned at Ernst & Young in their Risk Advisory Program, where I engaged in IT audit work, system access testing, SOC reporting with data center visits, process outlining, and more. From my internship, I not only learned many technical skills relating to the work and including forming expertise in Microsoft Excel, but also gained experience working with clients, maintaining time management, and collaborating with and across teams.
In my Sophomore year, I was a lab assistant on campus for a computer information science class I took my freshman year, CIS 1057 Programming in C language. Through this job, I have developed my public speaking skills, my assistance/teaching skills, my responsibility, and professionalism.
Outside of my academic and business careers, I am a bassist for my band. Despite not being a “systemized” job, it is one of the most valuable experiences I have had, and something I take great pride in. I love playing music, and it is important to me that I never abandon my passions. Committing hard work to practicing, producing a studio album, playing in front of a large amount of people, booking shows, and all the tasks that go into maintaining an independent band – all of these things continue to teach me a lot about self-motivation, self-reliance, and hard work.
