IT Intern | Millennium Systems International, Parsippany, NJ |

September 2017 –  June 2018

  • Involved with hands-on experience in learning about different careers, including Computer Science and how it interacts with the needs of the business.  This internship allowed me to apply my MCST education in the real world.
  • I was engaged in a variety of IT related activities to streamline operations and increase efficiency and documentation of Millennium’s internal IT infrastructure.
  • Responsibilities changed after a few months to give me exposure to a variety of areas.  I was engaged on mapping and documenting the wiring and infrastructure layout. This involved identifying all of the various ports including VOIP and Ethernet for all workstations, punch down panels and switches and updating spreadsheets with the information so that Millennium knows which are in use, which aren’t and which may be defective. Later in the year, I worked on locating bugs in Millennium’s newest software Meevo, an online scheduling system that customers can use right from an app on their phone.

Barista and Point of Sale | Mara’s Café and Bakery, Denville, NJ |

November 2016 – November 2017

  • At Mara’s Cafe, an always busy destination in a large town, my responsibilities were diverse.  Behind the counter I catered to customers with fresh, handmade drinks such as lattes, cappuccinos and teas, customized to our customer’s preference.  Multi-tasking was a must as there can be many customers with unique drink requests and am often handling the point of sale system along with the usual complexities of cash, credit cards, gift cards, discounts, promotions etc.  All this is done with a pleasant customer centered attitude because it’s known that it’s much easier to continue a relationship with an existing customer than to have to find a new one.

  • When needed last minute to cover for absent employees or unexpected busy days, I always made myself available to work as long as it didn’t interfere with my school responsibilities.
