Work Experience
During May- August 2013, I attended a summer internship at the Greater Philadelphia Urban Affairs Coalition. The Coalition works with nonprofit organizations, businesses, neighborhoods, and the government to help improve the overall quality of life in the Philadelphia region. I worked as an IT intern at their headquarters in Philadelphia. I gained valuable work experience throughout my time with the organization. I helped the IT department keep the computers throughout the building up to date and helped solve various computer-related problems. I also helped teach a computer class to a group of high school students. I wrote two small articles for the YOACAP newsletter, as well. A couple times, I helped the management with recommendations for various new software. Overall, the internship allowed me to gather hands-on experience within the IT and business world while providing assistance to nonprofit organizations.
