Application Developer
During this semester, I had the opportunity to work part-time as an application developer for a Philadelphia-based web/mobile applications startup company. Over the past few months, I was introduced to many new resources that will help me develop my technical skills. I learned and perfected my knowledge of HTML/CSS and also was introduced to the basics of PHP, javascript, and other coding languages. I worked on creating my own website from scratch, and also creating a code-less mock web application. It was a beneficial experience for me because not only it was a learning experience, it was also my first-time being hands on for a real project. The project we’re currently working on is a file sharing application, and I assisted them in testing out various functions of the application and perfecting the UI/UX. This was also my first introduction about the importance of user experience, and the simplicity of less is more. Through my experience, I learned the needs to be more hands-on with both business and the technical sides, we use technology to more work more efficiently in business.
