Volunteer

During my volunteering with Riverfront North, I learned a lot about native tree species and their impact on an ecosystem. The organization’s leads decided to choose Pennypack Park on the Delaware- as the lot there was vacant of any trees. Planting trees there would improve the ecosystem drastically and increase the wildlife in the area. The goal of Riverfront North is to transform neglected post-industrial landscapes into community spaces, while connecting people and helping to advocate for locale outdoor environments. This helps everyone in the area, including the people and animals in the park. I learned about community, novel ecosystems, and information about various tree species that day.
