Auditor

My full-time role in my internship at Ernst & Young brings to light a myriad of experiences, challenges, and moments of growth. Over the past weeks, I have been immersed in the day-to-day operations of the finance department, gaining valuable insights into the practical application of various Accounting and MIS principles. The internship has provided a hands-on learning experience, and while it has been demanding, it has been equally rewarding.

Building on my responsibilities as an audit intern at Ernst & Young, I delve deeper into the intricacies of my tasks:

Tying out work papers: This involved meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that financial documents align seamlessly. This process not only sharpened my analytical skills but also emphasized the importance of precision in the world of auditing.

Assisting in the preparation of account testing: This exposed me to the critical evaluation of financial data, allowing me to contribute to the development of robust testing methodologies and techniques. My MIS side of skills allowed me to prosper in this side of the field as all the technical skills allowed me to pick up everything way faster.

Collaborating on financial work papers: This presented an opportunity to enhance my teamwork skills, fostering an environment where diverse perspectives converged to achieve common goals.

It has been a great pleasure to be able to witness the day-to-day operations of auditors. I am getting first-hand experience of what goes on behind the scenes of various financial processes. Nevertheless, there is a lot of work that has been given to me, but it is interesting as I get to learn more about finances as a whole and I cannot wait to see what else I have got in store waiting for me to take on.
