Tableau Desktop Installation and Activation

Next Monday (Feb 2), we will begin learning how to use Tableau Desktop for data analyses.

The classroom laptops have Tableau already installed. If you’d like to use your personal laptops, you’ll need to download, install, and activate the software.

  1. Download Tableau Desktop (not Server or Online) from http://www.tableau.com/products/trial.
  2. Install it on your machine.
  3. Get an activation code from Blackboard My Grades.
  4. Use this code for activation. (Put your Temple email in “Business email” and Temple University for “Organization.”)

Good news – There is a Mac version of Tableau!

If you’re going to use your own laptop on next Monday, please make sure you install and activate it before the class.
