for the good: I like how it shows the size of the companies visually by the size of the spheres, it makes the giant companies really feel giant and the small ones feel small
for the bad: this visualization doesn’t really help us understand the data any better than a chart with all the values pasted into it would. the colors also don’t help visualize the data
https://www.visualcapitalist.com/ranked-nuclear-power-production-by-country/
I thought this was a good visualization because it shows you how much the difference in spending is amongst these countries. https://www.visualcapitalist.com/cannabis-and-alcohol-industry-comparison/
I thought this was a bad visualization because comparing these two industries is hard because even though they are both drugs they are treated very differently by society. I think a way to improve this would be to compare cannabis today to alcohol as it was coming out of prohibition or even when the industry really started blossoming.
The good link has a familiar layout and is easily interpreted, and you can make reasonable estimates of why the graph looks the way it does. The bad link is very cluttered has too much information, and isn’t very easily explained
https://www.visualcapitalist.com/ranked-the-most-prescribed-drugs-in-the-u-s/
I think that there are a lot of problems with this image but there are also a lot of positives. I like how each type of drug is put into a category and I also like how each pill size correlates to the percentage. However, I don’t like how it has the rankings out of order and I also think there is a but too much going on. https://www.visualcapitalist.com/visualizing-global-per-capita-co2-emissions/
each country shouldn’t have a different width. I also do not like how the circle doesn’t fully close. The globe in the center is wasted space
This visual popped out however I think it is not as effective as it could be because of the weird shapes that are created that prevent the viewer from seeing how different the countries with smaller values are
The first example I added in was Visualized: A Global Risk Assessment of 2022 and Beyond.
It goes into depth about the types of global risk over the years. It is neatly organised, there are labels regarding what each color means, and a clear breakup of the time periods being studied. The graphs shown are readable and easy to navigate.

One great visualization is -https://www.visualcapitalist.com/how-the-top-cryptocurrencies-performed-in-2021/
This shows crypto currency performance with different metrics and proper measurement starting with 0 for example as well as a map of growth.
A not so great example could be – https://www.visualcapitalist.com/the-periodic-table-of-commodity-returns-2012-2021/
This is a commodity returns chart that is just very plain and only provides % with no other information other than a legend.

Pretty good:

good: https://www.visualcapitalist.com/navigating-market-volatility-why-etfs-are-critical-tools/ (volatility graph)
