Starting last week, the course became very different from the first 9 weeks of MIS2101 and, perhaps, different from any other course you have previously taken. It is very important that you follow directions carefully and ask questions if you do not understand something.
In addition to doing the readings and submitting the assignments (Code Academy due Nov 4th), at this point you should have successfully:
– Downloaded a text editor (ex: BBedit or Notepad++)
– Have Chrome as your browser
– Established a folder for your code files, a folder you can find easily.
– Downloaded the code files for last week (Week 10). We will download Week 11 tomorrow.
– Successfully open some of Week 10 code files and completed and submitted In-Class Assignments 9 and 10. (I know most of you have – GREAT job!)
If you are struggling with any of the activities above, please reach out NOW! Do not fall behind! What we do each week will build on the previous weeks.
To be successful, of course, come to class prepared. If you need help, coding over email does NOT work. Instead, if you need help:
– Use the Virtual Help Desk (see tab on this site). It is up and running!
– Reach out to our ITAs, Kevin or Kazi, and arrange a meeting. Carly is helping out too.
I am available during office hours to discuss your concerns and questions (Tu/Th 12:30 – 1:30PM) or we can schedule a time outside of my office hours if needed.
