What is the purpose of building an e-portfolio?
Creating an e-portfolio serves a multifaceted purpose, offering individuals a dynamic platform to showcase their skills, achievements, and experiences. Primarily, an e-portfolio acts as a personalized digital space for presenting a comprehensive overview of one’s capabilities. It contributes to personal branding, allowing individuals to distinguish themselves in academic or professional contexts. The e-portfolio is a valuable tool for career development, providing a centralized location for potential employers or collaborators to assess an individual’s suitability for specific roles. It facilitates reflective practice, enabling users to evaluate their learning experiences and professional growth. Moreover, e-portfolios serve as educational assessment tools, demonstrating students’ understanding and development. They enhance networking and job-searching efforts by providing easy online access to a curated collection of work. The flexibility and accessibility of e-portfolios make them powerful instruments for documenting progress and presenting a dynamic narrative of an individual’s journey and achievements.
Juan Delgado says
Hi Colin,
I enjoyed your answer about what we need to have an e-portfolio. I also enjoyed how explained the benefits of having an e-portfolio. After reading this answer, I feel like having an e-portfolio is beneficial to students. Especially since having one can make it easier to find a job.
Lancelot Nyandoro says
Unfortunately, you are so right, Colin. the world is all about what you have done. It has become so bad that even 5-year-old kids have to turn in portfolios in kinder garden. Soon, this will become such a big problem because people are going to be chasing ghosts from the past.

What is your digital identity? Well it how you represent yourself online. What you put on your social medias, the comments you write on various social media platforms. Even what’s you watch effects your digital identity. A lot of people are different online compared to the real world. People feel more protected to say whatever you want because the people you will never meet the people you are saying the things to. That’s why some twitter sections and Reddit sections can get very toxic. How you build your e-portfolio is also how you create your digital footprint. It’s were you can put all you achievements and what you want other people to know. Your digital footprint it huge at this day and age because everything is on social media. Some who say your digital footprint is more important than you reputation in real life because people often know your digital footprint before they meet you in real life.

What is your digital identity, and what can you do to manage that identity?
My digital identity is the online representation of myself, encompassing the information available about me on the internet. It includes my personal details, online activities, and the data I share or that others share about me. Managing my digital identity is crucial for privacy and security.
There are many things you can do to manage your digital identity effectively. First and foremost be mindful of your online activity: think before you post, avoid sharing sensitive information unnecessarily, and be cautious about the content you share publicly.
You should also create unique and strong passwords for each online account to prevent unauthorized access. Consider using a password manager for added security and enabling two-factor authentication.
Adjust privacy settings on social media platforms and other online accounts to limit who can access your personal information.
It’s very useful to sometimes google yourself. Periodically search for your name online to see what information is publicly available. This allows you to address any inaccuracies or unwanted information.
Always stay informed about online privacy and security practices. Be aware of the latest threats and best practices for protecting your digital identity.
Juan Delgado says
Hi Danylo,
I liked how in-depth your post was. You captured every single situation in which a person can indeed manage their identity. One of your points interested me which was googling yourself. I just think it’s very interesting that there could be some information you posted publicly without you even knowing.
Colin Johnson says
Danylo,
Your recommendations on effective digital identity management are practical and crucial for individuals navigating the online landscape. Being mindful of online activities, especially in terms of sharing sensitive information, is a fundamental aspect that many tend to overlook. Your emphasis on thinking before posting and being cautious about public content is a valuable reminder of the impact our online actions can have on our overall digital footprint.
Corey Reagan says
Danylo,
Thank you for the post, I enjoyed the info that you provided and I am always weary of posting any info about myself especially on social media. I refrain from posting almost anything honestly and watch what I say when I comment on something also. You can never be too careful. Thanks again
Danylo Pidkova says
Hi Corey,
Same here. I avoid posting any personal identifaible information(PII) on social media and anywhere on the Internet. Better be safe than sorry!
Ereny Abousaif says
I like how in-depth your post was. It goes into great detail about every circumstance in which people can successfully control their identities. The bit about Googling oneself attracted my attention. It’s interesting to think that you can be unaware of information that is readily available to the public.
Mahbuba Ahmed says
Hello Danylo
I really liked your response. It is important to know how to manage digital identity such as being mindful of what you share, using strong passwords, and staying on top of your online presence are key to managing a secure digital identity. Overall, it was a great informative post.

I also avoid putting to much information online I think it could be detrimental to me in the future. I also just rather not.
Juan Delgado says
What is your digital identity, and what can you do to manage that identity?
A digital identity is anything you have online that anyone can see. Something as simple as your likes and dislikes on Netflix can be your digital identity and daily communication on your iPhone. The most digital identity is your social media since that’s where a lot of people make mistakes of including inappropriate content and most of them stuff that they shouldn’t be posting on there. One thing that you can do to manage your identity is to not post inappropriate pictures of yourself. Another thing is to always remember that nothing online is temporary. Everything that you share online will be there forever. The main important thing is to not embarrass yourself or do anything that would make a company not want to hire you. If there is anything that is sketchy about you online, there is no way that business would want to hire you. The business doesn’t want anyone to hire anybody that could potentially hurt the business.
Ajibola Sode says
Hey Juan
Digital identity refers to all the information about an individual available online. Managing it is crucial for maintaining a positive personal and professional reputation.
Eduard Lagutin says
Hello Juan,
I like your description of digital identity. I like the precautions that you mentioned about maintain a digital identity by being aware of what you’re posting and that nothing is temporary.
Samir Lagouit says
Juan,
I like the way you described our digital Identities. It really is just as simple as any interactions we have on the internet and applications we use. It’s an interesting perspective to bring up likes and dislikes on Netflix but is definitely a great example. Our algorithm is ever evolving on every streaming service we use, so we know there is a digital identity these companies have on us.
Ereny Abousaif says
Thank you for elucidating digital identities. It is consistent with the notion that our digital presence is shaped by our online interactions and behaviors. Your viewpoint on emphasizing preferences on websites such as Netflix is interesting, yet appropriate. The fact that these corporations create a digital identity about us is further evidenced by the way their algorithms are constantly changing in response to our behaviors on different streaming platforms.
Ajibola Sode says
An MIS community platform is an online forum where professionals, students, and enthusiasts involved in Management Information Systems (MIS) can share insights, resources, and discuss various topics related to the field. Such a platform may offer discussion forums, resource sharing, networking opportunities, educational content, news and updates, and collaborative projects. It serves as a hub for knowledge exchange, networking, and professional development for those involved in the field of MIS.
Colin Johnson says
Ajibola,
Your definition of an MIS community platform as a centralized hub for knowledge exchange, networking, and professional development succinctly captures the essence of these platforms. The idea of creating a space where individuals involved in MIS can come together to share insights, and resources, and engage in discussions is highly commendable.
Madison Masino says
Hi Ajibola,
I think MIS community platforms are interesting, as I’ve never had a class with a special website quite like ours. I like how everything is located in one place and it makes it easy to connect with the other students through discussion, and gives access to lots of other things such as videos and our diamond peer corner.
Ajibola Sode says
To add on essential elements of these platforms typically encompass forums for discussions, enabling users to ask questions, exchange ideas, or provide answers to various challenges within the field. Sharing resources is also a vital aspect, with the platform facilitating the access and distribution of articles, case studies, research documents, and software utilities beneficial for educational and professional enhancement. Additionally, the platform offers networking possibilities, allowing users to establish connections with colleagues, mentors, and experts in the industry, thereby facilitating career progression and opportunities for collaborative endeavors.

Why is it important to have a good digital identity?
One of the most important reasons to have a good digital identity is that it could have an affect on job prospects in the future. If an employer Google’s you and unfavorable social media posts or pictures come up, it could make them no longer consider you as a candidate. It is also important to have a good digital identity socially as it could influence an organization accepting your membership, volunteer opportunities and internships that you could be interested in. Unfortunately, it is widespread knowledge that people are usually researched online before these types of decisions are made.
Jenna Oldroyd says
Hi Cristina,
You have made a good point about if an employer were to Google you. It is important to be cautious about what you post on social media, as it could affect future employment. It is best to keep social media accounts private.
Jenna Oldroyd says
What is your digital identity, and what can you do to manage that identity?
Digital identity is the information a person puts out into the digital world. In other words, it is the way a person is identified online. This could be your identifier amongst many platforms, such as social, business, and personal, whether it is online services, purchases, or social interaction with other digital platforms. In other words, a digital identity represents a person or entity.
To manage your digital identity, you have to protect your privacy. For example, everything posted online is never temporary, so it is important to be careful about what you post and respond to. Another way to protect your digital identity is by changing passwords often.
Eduard Lagutin says
Hello Jenna,
I like and agree with your definition of a digital identity. The point about protecting your privacy is a great point that I do not hear enough of. I also agree with your statement of everything that is posted online isn’t temporary. Even if you delete something nothing is truly gone. People can take screen shots and most websites have archives of everything that has been posted to the platform.
Rachel Bard says
Hey Jenna, I loved your mention of “everything posted online is never temporary” I totally should have mentioned that in posting my weekly blog. I am now thinking of how many times I have typed my financial information into Amazon, let alone letting Amazon store that information so I can do a 1 click checkout. Goes back to my post about sometimes we sacrifice our personal lives to make our digital identity more convenient.
Eduard Lagutin says
You digital identity is a representation of yourself but online. The pictures, posts and comments are all a representation of you. You can manage your digital identity by being conscious of what you post online at all times and thinking if you are okay with anyone and everyone seeing what you posted. A main reason why you should have a good digital identity is that the world is advancing all around us and a digital identity is becoming a more important thing to maintain everyday. Your future employers will look through your digital identity and determine if you are a potential fit based on that alone. Even one off color joke made by you many years ago can lower your chances of getting a job dramatically.
Danylo Pidkova says
Hi Eduard,
That’s absolutely true!
Your digital identity is essentially your online persona, shaped by pictures, posts, and comments. It’s crucial to manage it consciously, thinking about how it reflects on you. Future employers often review it, and even a single inappropriate post from years ago can impact your job opportunities.
Hawa Barry says
Hi Eduard
I also talked about digital identity in my post. It’s important to actively shape your brand consistently and somewhat professionally in order to maintain good digital identity.
Rachel Bard says
What is your digital identity, and what can you do to manage that identity?
Your digital identity is basically all your activities on the internet being tracked and collected. A culmination of where your purchase items, where you have memberships to, where you look at pictures. It is basically your human existence put into 1s and 0s.
To better manage your digital identity, I know some tips say use unique passwords, beware of shady websites, and also possibly use a VPN if available to you. I know for myself I could be better at password usage, and I try to maintain private browsing history, but sometimes I feel I would rather have a fairly public digital identity because it’s more convenient. It is extremely easy for Google to capture all my usernames and passwords for every website I have ever logged in to. Is it going to make me more susceptible to being hacked or to have my identity stolen? Probably, but hey I have a lot of websites I have accounts to. I will say one thing I will never let Google track is my credit card or any payment information for that matter. I don’t even like having Apple Pay because it feels like there is too much of human me being put out digitally.
Georgios Zisis says
Hi Rachel,
You’re right, its hard trusting Google to keep all your usernames and passwords secure. I think being able to tell what a “shady website” looks like is very key to protecting yourself. Another way to secure your accounts is to make sure you set up two factor authentication! That way you will be notified if someone does attempt to login to your account.
Georgios Zisis says
What is your digital identity, and what can you do to manage that identity?
Your digital identity is your online persona. Anything you put out onto the internet is a representation of who you are. It is important to note that you can build your professional reputation online by building a digital brand. Anyone can see what you post online so you must be conscientious of what you put out there. That’s why it is important to be able to manage your digital identity. One way to manage your identity is to go back and delete any unnecessary posts or pictures that could tarnish your identity. You should focus on curating your identity to your professional achievements and connect with people online through professional platforms such as Linkedin. Probably the most important way to manage your digital identity is to make sure your accounts are secure by changing your passwords often and setting up two factor authentication. This way if someone does figure out your password you will immediately be notified of it.
Briana Seidle says
This is a great explanation of digital identity and how to manage it. Many people don’t consider the longterm effects of what they post online and how it can hurt or help them in the future.
Briana Seidle says
Why is it important to have a good digital identity?
It’s very important to have a good digital identity for multiple reasons. The primary reason is protect your reputation both online and in person, for the present and future. Once something is put online it stays there forever for the world to see. By maintaining a good digital footprint, whenever a company, institution or individual researches who you are, they won’t find any compromising or negative information to deter them from bringing you on as an employee, intern, or student. As a whole, they would not want negative representation associated with their brands.
Elena Grigoryan says
You’re right about negative information being hard to get rid of! It’s important to maintain integrity of our professional digital identity, just like it’s important to avoid any damage to our personal digital identity. It’s hard to get rid of reputation “stains”.
Leanne Sheely says
This is so right and kind of scary to think whatever you put on the internet will stay there forever and never really be taken down. I try to keep all my social media accounts on private so that at least future employers couldn’t see my personal posts.
Corey Reagan says
What is the purpose of building an e-portfolio?
One of the primary purposes of building an e-portfolio is to promote professional growth and development. Like a resume you want to showcase your skills, achievements, and experiences in a digital format. An e-portfolio allows a person to reflect on their growth and development over time, providing a place for self-assessment and maintaining your goals. It also gives you a way to stand out from the others in such a competitive arena.. Ultimately, the purpose of building an e-portfolio is to enhance one’s professional or educational prospects by presenting a well-rounded and dynamic profile.
Cheyanne Kostaras-Nesbitt says
Hi Corey.
I think you gave a great explanation as to why an e-portfolio is important and useful. I especially liked the point you made about allowing you to reflect on your growth as an individual and as a professional. That is something that I haven’t considered until now. It is also useful for presenting that information to potential employers or clients and is easier to access if it is kept in a well organized portfolio.
Hawa Barry says
Hi Corey,
E-portfolios I suppose are applicable in the business world as well. I moreso think of it in an art sense, but essentially e-portfolios stand as a more in-depth resume that highlights your achievements and skills.
Elena Grigoryan says
Building an e-portfolio could be of tremendous value. It is a great tool to show professional identity. An e-portfolio is a place for potential employers to see work experience, achievements, skills, education, goals and so forth. An updated e-portfolio can certainly help tip the scale in the hiring process. It is also a good tool for networking. Sharing professional interests can lead to other individuals, or even groups, with similar fields of interest, where you can discuss or exchange thoughts and opinions.
The assignment we had on building digital portfolio made me think about my dusty LinkedIn account and how it needs updating. More and more employers are checking out digital profiles for potential hires, and there are programs running through portfolios, choosing the best fitting profiles and pushing them to hiring teams. A strong portfolio will help grow in the professional world and in personal professional development. It can also help stay better connected.
Cristina Valentin says
I agree that an e-portfolio can be extremely beneficial with marketing yourself and your professional experience. The majority of employers utilize an online platform for their hiring process so it is important to have your information readily available in a professional way.
Leanne Sheely says
Why is it important to have a good digital identity?
Before discussing why its important to have a good digital identity do you know what digital identity is? Digital identity is your presence on social medias or anything you have put online about yourself or what others have put on there about you. If your social media accounts are public you might want to delete some stuff you have posted. Quick try this to see if you have a good digital identity go on google and search your first and last name. If you wouldn’t want an employer to see what comes up you might not have the best digital identity. It is very important to maintain a good digital identity because future employers could not hire you because of something they find when the search you. If you have private accounts you shouldn’t have bad stuff come up when you search yourself. Recently, I searched myself and I saw an old cringey Tik-Tok come up and wanted to delete it but on the internet once somethings up it’s up. My Tik-Tok account is officially private because I do not want future employers seeing that but since I was public when I posted it it is still online. Just be mindful and look out for your future self.
Salvatore Marsico says
Hi Leanne,
A good digital identity if very important and knowing what it is in the first place is a good step of starting to clean it up. A digital identity is your online presence and is crucial when it comes down to employment.
Zarmina Khan says
Hi Leanne, it was the quick try this, and doing it allows for us to really understand what comes up when we search ourselves. Our digital footprint matters alot more as we grow older than it did 20 years ago.
Cheyanne Kostaras-Nesbitt says
Why is it important to have a good digital identity?
It is important to maintain a good digital identity because it is a resource that anyone can use when making decisions. The most obvious one would be during the hiring process. Employers can and will often look through the digital identities of candidates before making their final decisions to learn more about the person they may hire. Anything offensive or damaging they find may cause them to choose a different candidate. Employers will look for qualities they think will or will not fit in with the current job culture. This is also important for independent contractors as clients will likely form opinions based on your digital identity. Overly offensive content, talking ill of previous clients, or failure to rectify issues brought to them publicly (such as reviews) can have an impact on the number of clients they receive. It is important to monitor what you post and what/who you engage with on social media and other online platforms.
Salvatore Marsico says
Hi Cheyanne,
I enjoyed reading your post about having a good digital identity. It is extremely vital to have a good representation of yourself online because employers will be looking at the accounts and looking for certain qualities. If they see qualities they like, it may boost your chances of getting hired.
Clay Jimperson says
What is ERD?
I can never forget how I mistakenly stumbled on ERD’s before I knew what they were or even what they were called. Over ten years ago, I was hired as an Accounting/Admin/Billing Specialist for a small department of a very large electric company. One of my main tasks was to collect electric usage data from customer meters and bill customers monthly for their usage. At the time, everything was billed and recorded out of Excel. The driver for our revenues other than repairs was manually reading number off meters and writing them on a paper printed out from an excel spreadsheet. At the time, the only thing I really knew about excel was that I could put numbers in boxes, add an equal sign in front, and do a simple calculation. When I first started the job, I would enter the data from the paper spreadsheets into rows and columns in excel and that data would go to another spreadsheet formatted like an invoice. Easy enough until a row or a column was change and it knock off all the invoices. “Uh Oh, how do I fix this” is what I told myself. There was no one to teach me and I didn’t know much about what was going on so I began tracking the process from the beginning to learn how to fix it. The data creating the invoice was just links. I thought to myself there has to be a better way to fix this month’s billing without click on cells and linking 100’s of links. Long story short, I learned that if I created a customer table with the name and customer numbers it would be simple, it was easier but still a lot of work. Next, I learned that if I create another table with all of the meter numbers and connected the meter numbers to the customer ID it would save me even more steps. Finally, it clicked in my head that my customer number was my primary key, it was my unique identifier that would connect everything together. The customer number links to the building which links to the meter which links to the meter read sheet. Now I have to figure out all of these links and stop putting an equal sign in a cell then going to another workbook and click on another cell to pull the data. I solved this problem by learning V-look Ups, using my primary key the customer id that already had a relationship with my building, meter, and invoice info tables. Once I thought I could make this even better and faster but my ideas were all over the place, so I drew it on paper. When look at the result of the drawing I said this makes it easier for me took make our billing system make my needs, it was my first ERD Diagram, and V-look Up was my first Automation.
Salvatore Marsico says
What is your digital identity, and what can you do to manage that identity?
Why is it important to have a good digital identity?
Your digital identity is the presence that you have on the internet such as multiple accounts on different social platforms. This can range from organizational accounts, work accounts, email accounts, and so on. To manage this identity you should be actively promoting your interests, skills, and creativity. A person should also delete anything questionable and look at their accounts through the eyes of an employer. A person should also have a profile picture set up on their accounts because that is usually what the person first sees. Also, a person should look for social media role models who are good influences to have a healthy digital identity.
It is important to have a good digital identity because all employers look at possible future employees’ accounts to look for anything questionable. If they see something they do not like, it could cost them a job. It could also work in your benefit to have a good digital identity because an employer may see your interests and hobbies and hire you because of it.
Hamida Akther says
Hi Salvatore,
Great explanation of both of the questions. I agree that having a good digital identities are very important because they can be used to verify who you are. Especially for a employers they can easily identify you, so having a good digital identity may make the employer be interests in you to hire.
Clay Jimperson says
What is Digital Identity.
Two words that can describe me is old school as I am a 47-year-old undergrad student. Therefore, I can honestly say that I don’t know much about digital identity and I am extremely naïve about its importance. Needless to say, that’s what classes like MIS 2101 are for, helping pre-historic old school guys like me learn about the present tools that our used in our society one module at a time. From my readings and watching video’s it seems to me that digital identity is branding yourself or presenting a sales pitch to the virtual and digital worlds. Digital Identity is so important these days in our society because computers are what connects us to the world globally. OK branding myself hmmmm, that’s the part that maybe scares a lot of us old school guys, and here’s why, it’s difficult for me to consider myself as a human as a brand because my mind associates brand as being a product. Am I to be Pepsi Cola or Polo shirt to compete socially and professionally in today’s society. In the video I watch I learned that ne of the reasons why digital identity matters is because many employers scan you who you are by researching you on social media outlets, I get it, I can see the advantage of knowing as much as you can about who you are hiring. However, what up human nature, things like random impulses and feelings that may make someone either post something a bit inappropriate because he had one too many drinks or because your upset and just need to vent and rant. Although we should always keep in our minds that one should always practice good decorum and etiquette, we are not perfect and we make human mistake. Most type humans learn the most by making mistakes and eliminating these mistakes may actually cause more harm than good in the long run. Is my digital identity the real me if I can sit and edit, proof read, consider and reconsider what I say before I post. Aren’t editing and proof reading to accommodate other rules of perception, I call this Perception Deception. Also how does one resist the urges to embellish their accomplishments and status when they feel they can’t compete or keep up with those who are just great with maneuvering through the digital world. I don’t know but I guess I’m going to find out, even if it’s the hard way.
Hamida Akther says
Hi Clay,
I enjoyed reading your post about digital identity. I agree that I also didn’t know much about digital identity until I came to this class, and I think it’s truly important to have a digital identity since we all want the employers to see good things about us. Having a digital identity will really help in getting jobs since the employers will search you online.
Hamida Akther says
What is the MIS community platform?
MIS community platform is a website that basically transforms how students, alumni, faculty, staff and industry partners interact. It is a student professional development and learning management system where every member of the community can be discovered and can engage with others and connect. MIS platform is the centralized hub to share insights, resources, knowledge, and professional development such as topic discussions between students related to the field/major. Also, in the MIS community platform there is the professional achievement program in which students earn points for development activities and display their achievement on integrated e-portfolios such as uploading a profile photo can get you 100 points. The MIS platform provides lots of educational content, and news updates that are very much helpful to the students even if you’re not majoring in Management Information System. MIS community platform works great with the MIS class by providing the Canvas assignment and works all on the community platform where it can be easily accessed.
Zarmina Khan says
Hey Hamida, learning more about MIS as a whole has brought a lot of new resources to my educational career as well as professional. The way you brought up the point that it isn’t only for education but for news as well as content regarding our majors is enlightening.
Madison Masino says
An eportfolio is great for students because you can build a digital footprint which can help you in your future career. The world is constantly changing, and employers/jobs are looking for or requiring new things constantly. Keeping a footprint of all you do as a student will help you to keep building for your future. It also gives the ability to demonstrate your personality while displaying your work.
Maurice Chism says
Madison I agree with you that the eportfolio is great for students. Especially when those students are not aware of the importance of controlling your virtual persona. It also provides a landing page for the employers that you mentioned because in most cases, we are not using our official name on social media for perspective employers to search for them.

What is your digital identity, and what can you do to manage that identity?
The best way to explain your digital identity is that it’s your online/digital tracker. Whether we like it or not, much of our personal information is out there and tied to us. An example is with many block-chain or cryptocurrencies, you often have a digital identity to verify who you are. Nobody has access to your personal information, but the platforms and exchanges know who you are online for the most part. However, you digital Identity is also what you see when someone googles your name. Whether it’s something negative on social media, that you’re the biggest flyers fan, or love to eat. There is definitely and identity associated with your socials and online presence.
Samir Lagouit says
What is the purpose of building an e-portfolio?
There are many different reasons to build an e-portfolio. For one, it’s our opportunity to outshine your resume and show the work you have done. It’s one thing to have experience with X number of applications or all these certifications in the industry. However, your E-profile has the ability to showcase specific projects you have worked on. It also can show relevant use cases with jobs that you are interested in. This gives you the ability to stand out further then the job requirements, but to still also tailor the site for positions and the career you want.
Dana Persaud says
Hi there! Great answer!
Building your e portfolio opens up a lot of opportunities not only to highlight your education and special interests but also in networking! Being proactive on professional networking sites are a great way to network your way into community and jobs that interest you.

Max Smith says
Hi Dana,
I agree with your write up on digital identities. I liked how you included that ones digital identity can either be positive or negative. Finally, I appreciated the link you included in your post. It was a very simple, step-by-step, synthesis of how to develop a positive digital identity.
Max Smith says
An individual’s digital identity is a representation of themselves which includes social media, business networking sites, and accounts on other platforms. Maintaining a positive digital identity can increase an individual’s reputation, network and work opportunities, and overall credibility. However, a negative digital identity can have the opposite effect.
Ereny Abousaif says
What is the MIS community platform?
As of January 2022, when I last updated my knowledge, I am not aware of any specifics regarding a platform known as “MIS Community.” If it has anything to do with “Management Information System” (MIS), it could be a location where business and technology enthusiasts congregate to exchange knowledge and talk about current events. Professionals and students in the field can usually connect and learn from one another through these groups. I advise visiting the official website or getting in touch with the administrators of the particular “MIS Community” platform you’re referring to for the most up-to-date and correct information. Since my last information in January 2022, there may have been upgrades or the addition of new platforms, causing online communities to shift.
Mahbuba Ahmed says
It is important to have a good digital identity because in today’s digital age a strong digital identity is needed for various reasons. It helps build trust online, ensuring that people know you are who you are. A good digital identity also safeguards against cyber threats, reducing the risk of identity theft and fraud. It plays a significant role in personal and professional reliability, influencing how others interact with you in the virtual world. Moreover, employers and collaborators often use online presence as a factor in decision making. Overall, maintaining a good digital identity is not just about security, it is a key aspect of establishing a reliable online reputation.
Maurice Chism says
Hello Mahbuba,
I agree that the reason to have a good digital identity is to protect your reputation. But as you stated, it is prbably more importnat to protect from a security perspective. Hawa Barry says
My digital identity is comprised of multiple social media platforms, including Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and such. As someone who has dabbled in influencer work, I would say my brand is very Gen-Z oriented; there is a lot of sarcasm, dry humor, and inside jokes scattered throughout my socials. I post myself often, in normal ways a young adult would, but nothing ever damaging to my professional life. Perhaps to a super big corporation, it would be considered unprofessional, but I work hard to be cautious on what I post. It’s important to maintain a good digital identity so that your personal life outside of work won’t be misconstrued in the workplace. My Linkedin is where I truly aim to emit that “professional” energy, but outside of that I am very lax with my social media. It’s curated in a way that is very me though, if that makes sense.
