AI: My Journey

Erica Griggs - February 11, 2024 2 Comments

For my weekly blog post, I’m excited to share my journey into the world of Artificial Intelligence (AI). In simpler terms (get excited!) imagine smart computers that can learn and make decisions – well yup that’s AI! I’ll make the tech talk easy to follow, so breaking down machine learning and algorithms, to show how AI is changing our daily lives. AI also continues to develop, but we’ll focus on the now.
Let’s chat about why data is a big deal for these smart computers and how it impacts us. Plus, I’ll dive into the right and wrong of AI, discussing its mistakes and what some might call biases.

This isn’t just a class discussion; it’s my personal exploration into the fascinating world of AI. Join me on this journey as we uncover how smart machines are shaping our future in a way that’s easy to understand and exciting to explore!

Erica this is a great way to explain and explore the world of AI. I am excited about it as well. I am looking forward for it to continue to complement our way of living. It has made a difference for me on my daily living. I turn my lights on and off, found an easier way to set timers and alarms and have used it to post to social media. My challenge is looking past movies like iRobot where the one robot has feelings and a company uses the robots to lock down the world if they wanted to.

What has MIS 2101 provided me?

While I was applying to take this class, I was not aware of the true value that would be provided in each lesson and activity that was provided. I am a seasoned (LOL) student who would have benefitted from learning these lessons early on in my Corporate America working days. Learning about how to use a CRM like Salesforce would have made me just a little more marketable in my career. Now it can be used as a resource in my consulting agency. Touching on the ability to code a website from scratch even though it may not be necessary in certain capacities but it can help with bringing other pieces of software and applications to life. This class provided an opportunity to understand not just my value but the value of my classmates and if we work together how much we can change and influence any business setting. This class showed a glimpse of knowing, understanding and staying on top of technology can provide us.
