The Swim Lane Actors are not supposed to have names. The third Actor includes his name and should just say, Manager. The start and end of this process symbols are rectangles instead of circles. In Actor John Smith, Stock Managers lane the decision that asks if the item is in stock or not does not have a process for if the item is not in stock. The arrow should be pointing toward the customer, and it should say notify the customer. In that same lane deliver is in a cylinder and should be rectangle because no data is identified as being stored.

    Hi Isel,
I think your breakdown of what Swim lane actors are and are not supposed to be was really well said and the example you provided makes great sense and emphasizes how a system should be operating.

    Isel,
When i initially reviews the Swim Lane for any typos, i completely overlooked that there were names where the actors were. Thank you for bringing that to my attention and i will probably not forget that now!

Hi Isel, I believe your breakdown was nice and simple. You made a complex graph sound easy, you explained the actors well too and what their role is in the swim lane chart.

    Hi Isel,
At first, I had trouble with Swim Lane, especially where to add the actors and how to sort things out. Swim lane diagram. But after reading your post it made things clear about what goes where. The one mistake I probably would still make is to write the person’s name as an actor instead of the job position.
