Waterfall Vs. Agile

Cassidy Mantle - January 22, 2023 2 Comments

The main difference between agile sdlc and waterfall is how each cycle breaks down and develops. Waterfall isolates each phase of its software development which corresponds with one another while Agile advocates for the development of parallel lifecycle phases which correspond with one another as multiples. Mainly Agile sdlc requires its team to complete project phases before advancing towards the next step/phase versus agile which is more individual based in a sense where it advocates for individuals to work on their portions of the project simultaneously. MIS specifically stands for Management information systems. In a sense when people think of management information systems, they think of systems and how people can manage certain information in one setting such as collecting data and organizing a date base. Many different systems/methods help individuals record and keep track of data, but most major institutions or organizations use technology to organize and hold their data in one safe place. Therefore Data bases are a large aspect of MIS since it is a form of managing information for a tech based system or system in general.

    Hi Cassidy,
I thought your break down of the differences was really well said and concise. Also interesting how you mentioned how data bases are used for major institutions to keep their data safe. I heard it is a major thing for companies to now have huge data bases to keep their data secure.

    Hey Cassidy,
While doing my own research i was a little confused on how to really differentiate each model from one another, but through reading your post and a few other classmates it helped me really grasp why they are different. I had not thought to view each model from the perspective of a team, and that helped a lot in me further understanding the difference.
