Product managers are essential to businesses, as they link all of the functions that revolve around a product together. They are influential in the process of building and launching products. What’s even more interesting is that product managers have evolved from their past roles. They used to center their focus on the execution of a product but now are considered “mini-CEOs”. In order to be a product manager, you must be a knowledgeable person that wears many hats. This person must know the ins and outs of the product that is being created. Product managers must have an advanced technological background, along with the ability to do some interacting with customers. As the role continues to develop, product managers are also working with APIs. Product managers are the people that are road mapping the goals of the business in terms of product and ensuring that they can lead the team to success. They come up with game plans on how to achieve business goals. Overall, having a product manager is key to having a successful business.

Hi Kayla, that was well said when you describer the importance of a product manager to a business and how they can have so many hats to wear when developing the product. The product manager is almost like unsung hero because they don’t seem to receive much credit but are such a large part of the business like how you described.
Hi Kayla! Your insight into project managers was really cool! I also spoke about program managers and how they have evolved from what they used to do years ago. It’s interesting to see the evolution in careers and how much more freedom/responsibility one role has now. I think that program managers are the real backbone of a company and after doing further research into what a program manager does, I think that would be an awesome career to have. I personally think the descriptions you find on project managers look super interesting and would love to dive deeper into what they do on a day to day basis when doing their roles in an organization.
