Digital Identity is anything that can be traced back to you through personal data. Accounts are known as a type of identity, but not all identities are accounts. Based on my personal data, by digital identity would be any accounts I’ve opened on the internet and creating usernames and passwords. Also, anything I searched on the internet would be an identity, as well as any transactions and purchases I made on the internet, my birthdate, and my social security number, and drivers license. There are different ways you can protect your digital identity. You can protect your digital identity by doing the best you can to protect your passwords to your different accounts. Your passwords should not be easily guessed. You can also download security software to protect your digital identity. There are websites and software that will let your know if one of your accounts have been breached. That way you are aware as soon as it happens, and you can do what is needed such as changing passwords.
