Hello everyone,
I hope you are doing well. We will start the semester with a couple lectures about data, and how organizations use data. In that time, I want to encourage you to do a couple things on your own, outside of class over the next week.
- Install MySQL Workbench. If you are reading this, you are on the MIS Community site. Please draw your attention to the “Links” menu on the right. You will find your installation instructions there. You won’t need this right away, but getting the software installed now means that you won’t have to worry about it later on!
Do this ASAP. You will need this software for class on Wednesday 1/25.
- Now, if you *really* want to be an MIS2502 rockstar, watch/work through the LinkedInLearning video: “Learning SQL Programming” with Scott Simpson. While this video contains more SQL commands than you will need in this class, it is a great, concise video to help students learn SQL quickly. I highly recommend it.

See you soon.
