Hi all,
Big announcement! I have decided to move exam one from Thursday (this week) to Tuesday 3/21 (this coming week.)
I will spend Tuesday’s class doing exam prep work – specifically looking at the study guide, reviewing past quizzes, and talk about how to study/prepare.
And … looking ahead a little… I will spend Thursday’s class this week on wrapping up Project 2.

Hi everyone,
In class today we will work on the history feature of our Project 2 application.
We will use this as an opportunity to introduce something called “template literals” (also sometimes called “template strings”.) Template literals give us a powerful, easy-to-read technique for generating dynamic HTML.
We’ll also need to write a loop (everybody’s favorite!)
We’ll end class with quiz 6. As always, this weeks quiz will be based on last week’s outside-of-class video lecture.
I will also describe the modest expectations I have for you while you are away on spring break next week.

Hi everyone,
I’ll start class with a couple remarks about last week’s quiz, as well as this week’s upcoming quiz.
After that, we will spend our class time doing two things:
#1 Working on Project 2 – client side code
#2 Walking through the creation of a Lambda function, and some sample code.
I will conclude our time together by bringing a few Canvas items to your attention.

I’ll start class today with “the lamppost joke” and how it relates to you.
Then we will begin to integrate the camera functionality into our prototype. I hope to get as far as dealing with scan successes.
We may have to work on scan failures next week (need to see how far we can get today!)
Our class time will conclude with this week’s quiz.
Please note that it is extra important to get an early start on this week’s lecture material.

A police officer sees a drunken man intently searching the ground near a lamppost and asks him “What are you doing?”. The drunk replies “I lost my car keys. I’m looking for my car keys.”
So… the police officer helps the man search for a few minutes without success. Then he asks the man, “Sir, are you *sure* you lost your keys here?.”
“No,” is the reply, “I lost the keys somewhere across the street.”
“Then why are you looking here?” asks the surprised and irritated officer. The drunk replies, “Well duh.. The light is much better here, of course!”
I will start class today with some quick remarks about the participation grades I assigned last week.
I will then want to review a couple things:
We will then return to our work on the SupeAble mobile client (Project 2)
