This summer, I worked at a Philly-based company called Mainfactor as an E-Commerce Operations intern.
Mainfactor’s general responsibility to our clients is to oversee their online merchandise stores. Most of our clients are musical artists who need a modern platform to sell their merchandise and to provide a space for their fans to engage with their content.
We use Shopify for Partners as our main platform, among other things like Print On Demand services for specialized products.
My responsibilities as an intern are fluid. My supervisor is a Store Manager for different artists and their online stores. Since May, he has been teaching me the responsibilities of his role, and how to do things myself. This is all with the intention of keeping me on as a part-time worker until I graduate, and eventually finding a full-time role within the company after graduation.
I operate in somewhat of an assistant capacity, where my supervisor will either assign tasks to me if it’s something I have done before, or take me through the process of a certain task so that I will be able to do it individually after some repitition.
