I hope everyone is learning a lot in your internship. Here is question #2. Please comment on this and feel free to respond to other’s comments as well.
What are some of the important things that you had to find out on your own–having to do with the company culture and/or things you wouldn’t normally think you have to ask for…finding the bathroom, finding where to get coffee in the morning, etc?

Something I had to figure out during my time at PGW was how to dress while in the office. While I was told that their dress code is business casual, I observed a wide range of office outfits from jeans and a hoodie to a full on suit. To play it safe, I normally dressed in a tucked in dress shirt with dark chinos and dress shoes most days. Figuring out the right level of business casual took some time, but going into the office three days a week gave me plenty of practice.
My internship at AmerisourceBergen will be virtual, and that comes with a new set of challenges for what to wear. Although I’ve already been on calls with my team members where they’ve worn t-shirts/casual clothes, I’ll probably play it safe during my first week and wear a collared shirt during meetings. I’m confident that I’ll also find the right balance at AB when it comes to virtual meeting attire, but it’ll take some time.

While working with Temple IT services, I worked a hybrid schedule. In my first week at the office, I noticed that most of my colleagues worked from home. Thus, it was rather easy to explore the different parts of their executive office in the Tech Center with nobody around.
My internship at WSFS bank starts on Monday next week. I am excited to visit the office for the first time and experience the team culture. However, I have no idea about the appropriate attire for this office. I want to play it safe by wearing a suit on the first day and observe my fellow colleagues to adapt well. If it is a semi-professional environment, I can take off the tie and roll up my sleeves! I will keep you updated with how I explored the new office.
