Looking back, I had an enjoyable and productive 10 weeks during my internship this Summer. Similar to other jobs, it had its busy weeks and slow weeks, but I learned a ton about AB and the pharmaceutical industry as a whole. With my previous experience as an IT Project Management intern, I wasn’t expecting Product Management to be very technical or hands-on, but I was pleasantly surprised after my experience with AB. To be a good Product Manager is to know the technical ins-and-outs of your Product, therefore knowing what is or isn’t a feasible ask from business. I would look forward to a full-time career as one.
My manager and I discussed me staying on part-time during the fall semester so long as the budget allows, which I would be very eager to accept. We also discussed staying in touch when full-time opportunities arise in our department or across the company, which I would also be happy to pursue. Regardless of the outcome, I am grateful to have been able to intern with AB this Summer. I’ve learned much more than the classroom could have taught me.
Looking back, I feel grateful to have had an experience packed internship at WSFS bank. I learned a ton of hard skills needed for a Project Manager and technical skills working with Microsoft products. Furthermore, I was able to improve my soft skills by networking within the company, learning from the journeys of executive leadership and form meaning relationships. I gained an in-depth exposure of different departments at WSFS by speaking with leaders in those departments. Overall, I was honored to a part of the WSFS story this Summer and felt like by opinions were valued by everybody on the team.
I had a conversation with the Chief Digital Officer and my manager about future part-time and internship work that I could do for the department. Furthermore, they have assured that I could have a place at WSFS when I graduate in 2025. I will be staying in touch with all the executive leaders I had the opportunity to meet to get advice on future opportunities.
