What are the most important skills (business/technical) and people that you have discovered in your internship? Is there a skill that you didn’t have before but realize that you absolutely need? Is there a person that you discovered that you definitely want on your side (besides your boss of course)?

During my internship as a Cyber Threat Intelligence intern at WSFS Bank, I have discovered several key skills that are essential for success in the cybersecurity field. The ability to swiftly and effectively respond to security incidents is critical, which includes using SIEM tools to identify and mitigate threats. Proactively searching for threats requires a detail oriented approach and an understanding of common attack indicators of compromise. The analysis of system logs is an essential skill to detect anomalies in the system which can lead to an early identification of potential threats. In my time as a cyber threat intelligence analyst, I have realized the importance of quickly identifying issues, devising effective solutions, and making critical decisions rapidly. One skill that I didn’t have before but have realized is absolutely necessary is Threat Intelligence Analysis. This involves gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data about potential threats to provide actionable insights. A person on my team has been a great mentor, guiding me through complex incident responses and providing valuable insights into advanced threat hunting techniques.
