Cybersecurity Skills Shortages

December 5, 2017 by Jonathan Duani Leave a Comment

Cybersecuirty is an ever changing and because of that and how new it is there is a shortage of skills in this new field. For us who are just starting in this field this is not a bad thin cause this will mean that there are jobs out there however, a lot of the companies that are out there are slowly trying to get up to speed with secuirty. The black hat hackers however are much farther ahead of them. Since this is the case a lot of the people dont realize how susceptible they are at first until the technology and the skill set of the current employees filter though.

IT help wanted, cybersecurity experience preferred

December 5, 2017 by Jonathan Duani 1 Comment

This is really interesting article. I think it is really important for everyone to be conscientious about cyber security. If you have a desktop technician that does not care about security even if a company has all the stuff in place to make it secure a tech can just circumvent it for a client if they really wanted to. I think that if every tech has a little bit of knowledge in security it could be really valuable to the company.

Hackers took over the computer system of a Boeing 757 passenger jet

November 14, 2017 by Jonathan Duani Leave a Comment

This is really interesting and kind of scary article. A department of homeland security hacker was able to gain access to the avionic controls of a Boeing 757 remotely without and internal help within the aircraft. It is kind of scary to think about about because the plane is in the air someone can hack in and take control and the pilots would have no idea what is happening before it is to late.

A rocket scientist hacks the cybersecurity labor crisis

November 14, 2017 by Jonathan Duani Leave a Comment

Pretty Interesting article that I found which talks about the cyber security job market. It explains there will be millions of jobs open by 2021 and not enough people to fill them,( which might not be a terrible thing for us). However, this article also talks about how they teamed up with the Girls Scouts to train young girls in cyber security which is pretty cool. So if they have an interest, they could help fill some of thoose jobs.

October 24, 2017 by Jonathan Duani 1 Comment

I thought this was a pretty interesting article with the cryptocurrency boom that has been going on lately. The article talks about code in different websites that will use the resources on your computer to mine for these cryptocurrency. The end user will never know that it is exist and the person who add this code to the site will be making a ton of money off your computers resources. Do you think this is ok?
