Fox Fall Connection
Attending CSPD’s Fox Fall Connection was great at helping me become more comfortable speaking with employers, practicing my elevator pitch and learning more about what the companies present offer. The event was held in Mitten Hall where the check-in process was smooth and organized. There were about 100 employers there like Lincoln Financial, Vanguard, and TD Bank. At first, entering the hall was a bit intimidating at first since this was my first large career fair, but I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and improve upon my public speaking skills. Overtime, I became more relaxed and confident about coming up to employers and speaking with them. Through the career fair, I was able to learn about the benefits and upcoming opportunities the companies I was interested in offered like internships and post-graduate positions. It was also nice hearing about their experiences with their respective companies like what made them choose the company, the work-life balance and what their day-to-day routine is like. It really put into perspective of what things I should consider when searching for that full-time opportunity when I eventually graduate.
