MIS Mentorship Program

I am beyond thankful for the opportunity of participating in the MIS Mentorship Program, as a Mentee. As a freshman, I am still adjusting to University life and honestly, it has been slightly intimidating. The Mentorship Program has functioned as a catalyst for my understanding and comfort level with my major: Management Information Systems (MIS). Throughout my experience in the program, I was lucky to have an amazing mentor to guide me through my first semester and my first time being affiliated with the Association for Information Systems (AIS). My mentor guided me in almost every step of the E-portfolio process. As a freshman, I genuinely struggled with my MIS Resume. My mentor was very patient and responsive to my issues and helped me complete my Resume. Additionally, my mentor recommended many useful courses for my major and helped me plan my next semester courses. I will definitely continue my participation as a Mentee in the AIS Mentorship Program. Hopefully, in the future, I can become a Mentor and shed some wisdom on everything  I have learned as a Mentee!

Draught Horse Social 2019

At a popular on-campus bar and grill right at Temple University, I was able to enjoy a private area for conversation and meet and create connections with AIS members. I love the social events AIS offers solely because I get to have interactions with club members, alumni, and faculty of the MIS department.

Technical Development Workshops

I participated in the Technical Development Workshop hosted by Nhi Nguyen about Data Analytics and Python. This was one of the first times I worked with Python and through my participation I was able to increase my technical competency. I appreciate how hands-on these workshops are and how they provide a more informative experience of using new technology that relates to my future career paths.
