INTERESTS
Some of my favorite activities include travel, fishing, watching Philly sports teams, dining at local restaurants and pubs, playing computer games, and spending time with my wife and friends.
TRAVEL
My wife and I really enjoy traveling together. Some of our favorite destinations include Iceland, Germany, the Netherlands, and the Caribbean. A highlight from a recent trip was participating in Oktoberfest in Munich and visiting Neuschwanstein Castle. We are planning a trip to China and Thailand for 2013.
FISHING
Fishing is a hobby I have always enjoyed but have limited access to in Philadelphia. Thankfully, there are great places to fish nearby. Each spring I go trout fishing and in the summer months I try to cast a line in when the opportunity presents itself. On an annual trip to Massachusetts I go fishing for Striped Bass, Blue Fish, and Bonito. I have had the opportunity to go sport fishing on a number of occasions in the Caribbean and Mexico but have yet to “hook into” the big one. Reeling in a Marlin or something equivalent has been a lifelong dream of mine.
GAMES AND GADGETS
I come from one of the first generations to grow up video games, starting with the iconic NES system. Although my work and school schedule permits me little time to play they hold a special place in my heart. I also like gadgets of all kinds. At a young age I became my family’s “VCR whisperer,” and never looked back. I’m no camp-overnight-fanatic, but I’m usually ready to adopt when second shipment comes in.
OTHER INTERESTS
Something tells me that you didn’t come here to learn all about my interests and weekend hobbies, so I will wrap this section up after sharing a few additional “likes.” As any good Philadelphian should, I root passionately for our local sports teams. Another favorite Philadelphia hobby is visiting the vast and varied selection of small pubs and restaurants scattered across the city. I do enjoy craft beers and once tried to craft my own – I’ve since left that job to the professionals. Online, I run an annual fantasy football league, blog about video games, post online dining and product reviews, and keep up as best I can with my social media accounts. Last but not least, I am a PADI Open Water certified scuba diver.
