Previous Jobs

As a clerk at Wine & Spirits, I was tasked with efficiently processing customer transactions, replenishing inventory, greeting and assisting patrons with the selection of products, and maintaining proper organization of product displays throughout the store. An aspect of this job that I enjoyed was the need to constantly collaborate with my co-workers to learn about the various wines and spirits our store offers. Each day I worked to expand my knowledge so that I could better cater to the needs of customers. Overall, working at Wine & Spirits helped me to enhance my conflict resolution skills and emphasized the benefits of having a team-oriented mindset in the workplace.

During the fall seasons of 2013 and 2014, I served as the team captain of my high school soccer team. Elected by my peers, I worked alongside the coaches to conduct practices and drills for our team of 30+ girls. I was in constant communication with my teammates and coaches to determine the skills we needed to improve. Another duty of mine was to organize team social gatherings and events for the players, coaches, and families, as well as work with a local retail store to create new apparel for the soccer team. Taking on this role allowed me to foster a sense of respect, optimism, and confidence within my teammates in order to lead them to success; furthermore, it also enabled me to strengthen my leadership and communication skills.

Lastly, I worked at Kiwi Yogurt for one summer in high school. In this job, I was placed in a busy environment that required me to balance the responsibilities of serving customers, maintaining a clean workspace, and preparing the food. I worked together with other team members and team leaders to provide customers with excellent service. This job taught me the importance of time management and enlightened me on the need for effective communication among co-workers.
