Building a Resume and Cover Letter That Gets You Noticed!

This webinar, hosted by the Main Line Chamber of Commerce, provided valuable insights on building effective resumes and cover letters. We explored the importance of showcasing skills in a way that truly highlights what we have to offer. The session began with a conversation between the hosts, who shared their perspectives on what makes a resume stand out, the ideal content structure, and common pitfalls to avoid.

We then moved into breakout rooms for more personalized discussions, where we addressed our individual experiences with resumes and cover letters. Afterward, we reconvened to share key takeaways from each group. One of the most impactful lessons for me was the value of including an objective section on my resume—something I had not considered before. I learned that an objective can communicate qualities and goals that may not be fully captured by work or education history alone.
