“For The Kids”

I participated in HootaThon, a student-run organization that raises funds and awareness for The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), for the first time last Fall 2015 semester and immediately became very active in the organization raising over $750 through online fundraising and canning events setup by the org.

In my role as Director of Finance for HootaThon 2017, I oversee all the financial aspects of the organization including budgeting, pulling participant/donation reports, counting cash and check donations, and entering totals into the DonorDrive database.

HootaThon is by far the best org I’ve gotten involved with on campus.

Temple Honors Appalachia

Upon being accepted into Temple, I was also accepted into the University Honors Program, where I am able to have a feel for a small campus within a large university. Through this program I was introduced to Temple Honors Appalachia, a week-long trip to Southeastern Kentucky where students and faculty participate in the construction of houses in underprivileged areas. Last year I, personally, helped frame a house and shingle a roof along with my group of four other students in Hazard, Kentucky. I look forward to returning this summer to strengthen my bond with the Hazard community.
