Wellness Activity – Reading a Book
The book I chose to read is “IT” by Stephen King. It was a pretty big undertaking, since it is almost 1200 pages in length, but I definitely enjoyed reading it. The novel was absolutely terrifying, but I just could not stop reading it and flew through the entire thing. I’ve learned a lot about the human condition, and how the subconscious reflects our true emotions, as well as how people are conditioned to perceive fear. Fear is different for each individual, and can take any shape or form. I think that reading this book relates to my goals because reading such a deep and disturbing novel truly stirs your imagination to the largest extent possible, and imagination is crucial for creativity. Creativity plays a large role in innovation, therefore I need to be a creative person in order to come up with ways to innovate a product, so reading books that stir my imagination and make me more creative will help me come up with new ideas.
