Information Technology Intern
Over the summer, I had the opportunity to work at Hamilton Lane, a private market solutions provider, as an IT Intern with the Technology Infrastructure team. In this role, I was able to research, lead and design projects that are now being used company-wide. One of my projects included researching and programming a new registration system for corporate wide use that is used by 30+ visitors each day. I was able to work closely with the IT team to improve processes within the organization while using and testing software such as Excel, MySQL, Visual Studio Code, Power Automate, Jira Project Management, etc. With this experience, I was able to learn more about what it could be like potentially working in the IT field upon graduation. This related back to being an MIS major since we are constantly exposed to people, processes, and technology. What better way to mix business and technology together than being a part of an IT team at a private equity firm! I was able to use my knowledge from Digital Systems, Web Application Development, as well as Data & Analytics during my internship.
