Enterprise Risk Consultant
I accepted an offer with EY for their Philadelphia office. EY is a massive global accounting firm with around 365,000 employees worldwide. I am working in the consulting division, specifically in enterprise risk consulting.
Working in Enterprise Risk, I will help clients identify, assess and manage financial, operational, compliance, IT and strategic risks across their enterprise to provide value to their business. I will help clients businesses by designing, establishing and maintaining an effective process, risk and control environment. I will help a plethora of clients across many different industries.
This job relates to my major because I will have to assess IT risks that any of my clients may face. MIS gave me a broad yet deep understanding of the information systems businesses use, and how they can help a business. I learned that technology can help a business, but also presents a plethora of risks if IT architecture is not implemented and maintained properly. Courses like Cloud Architecture and Web Service Programming gave me transferrable knowledge and skills that I can use with my clients as those courses are based on how real businesses operate. I am looking forward to my capstone course to learn more about cybersecurity threats businesses face.
