Director of Events

May 2018 – Present

I am currently serving as the Director of Events for Temple University’s chapter of the Association for Information Systems for the 2018-2019 academic year. As the director, I am responsible for coordinating both the social and community service events for over 300 members. Since assuming the role, I’ve conducted three successful social events, in the Fall semester alone, such as our Draught Horse Social, Homecoming Tailgate, and our first ever AIS Game Night; all three of which has over 120 participants. Alongside my Chair of Community Service, I also created over 350 different community service opportunities for our members, in association with Cherry Pantry, Duckrey Elementary School, Swipes for Philadelphia, Cigna, Philabundance, etc.. I also work directly with the Director of Community Engagement, Chair of Community Service, and the Chair of Outreach in efforts to increase both our faculty and alumni relations through our social events in order to increase the value of engagement for our organization and its members.

Events Committee Chair

August 2017 – May 2018

Before assuming the role of Director of Events, I was on the Events Committee team, aiding the previous Director of Events.

My responsibilities included assisting the Director with the planning and execution of different social events. Through this position, I expanded my exposure of working on a team, increased my organizational management, and took responsibility for attendance and occasionally any funds associated with an event. This position allowed me to gain insight to the role that the Director plays and the structure of an executive board. This encouraged me to apply to be the upcoming Director of Events for the 2018-2019 school year.
